Wellbeing Activities
SRCF aims to:
address the cultural stigma around mental health among asylum seekers,
refugees and migrants.
enhance access to local mental health services
improve the quality of life of those with a mental health problem
combat discrimination within refugee and migrant communities
promote social inclusion
Being homeless and destitute for many months and years has led asylum seekers, refugees and migrants to become isolated and unable to access health services.
SRCF works in partnership with member organisations on intercultural activities, such as:
Dance classes to improve physical health & wellbeing - Bolivian & Anata
Cooking classes to promote healthy eating habits for better long term health - London Huayu
Traditional coffee ceremonies to promote good relationship between communities - Eritrean Community Centre
Cultural activities to promote a sense of belonging among isolated refugee women & young people – Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers
Cycling classes to improve mobility and physical wellbeing among refugees and migrants - Ahwazi Cultural Centre
