Southwark: a Borough of Sanctuary

Southwark Council are committed to making Southwark a recognised ‘Borough of Sanctuary’ in 2024. The vision is to make Southwark a place that welcomes, supports and celebrates asylum seekers, refugees and migrants.

SRCF hosted a Borough of Sanctuary Lived Experience workshop in May 2024. We consulted with established refugees, newly recognised refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants. We discussed the vision, objectives and principles.
