Two Wheels
Helping refugees and migrants to move safely during Covid-19
SRCF is organising cycling training in collaboration with Southwark refugee and migrant communities with the aim of:
Assisting members of refugee and migrant communities to understand the benefits of cycling, in terms of health, finance and mobility
Providing refugees and migrants with an alternative way to move around London
Helping those that are unfamiliar with UK road regulations and driving and cycling practices to gain the skills and knowledge to cycle safely and with confidence
Unfortunately the low level of bike ownership and issues around affordability, and storage of bikes, could be real barriers to people starting cycling.
In order to address this issue, SRCF has made available a number of bikes to be used by representatives of refugee and migrant communities to move safely while observing social distancing during the pandemic.
